One of the nicest views of the Colorado River !
How to find Horseshoe Bend: Locate the junction US 89 and SR 98 south of Page, AZ, on a map. From this junction you go ca. 1.4 mi south on US 89 and will see a brown sign (something like ‘Scenic View’) on the west hand side of the road.
That location is between mile posts 544 and 545.
Turn west on the short dirt road and reach the parking lot.
From there it is a short 3/4 mi walk to the canyon.
The town of Page itself is situated ca. 135 miles north of Flagstaff at US 89 (at Junction 98) approx. 9 miles south of the Utah border.
There’s not much to tell about that view – the picture above should speak for itself.
Go there and enjoy the quietness and the spectacular view. You’ll be much closer to the Colorado than you can get at Dead Horse Point State Park nearby Moab in Utah which offers a similar but not comparable view.
