A Must-See place, no doubt. You’ll either love it or hate it. If the latter is the case, then you have plenty of other ‘Wirtshäuser’ (beer restaurants / halls) in the close proximity of this location.
The Hofbräuhaus is located in downtown Munich, just a few minutes away from Marienplatz and Viktualienmarkt — and with the term ‘minutes, we refer to walking.
There are dozens of very good Wirthäuser (bavarian beer and food establishments) all around Munich downtown — the list of recommendations would be too long. Just stroll around the area after you had a beer or two here at the Hofbräuhaus, and you will feel like you have ‘wings’ and find all those nice places to drink and eat authentic Bavarian food and beer.
