In the small town of Sturgis (best known as ‘Motorcycle City USA’) on I-90, Exit 30, every year one of the most important events of the biker scene takes place: it’s the legendary motor cycle meeting, The Sturgis Rally. Every year an estimated 500.000 people flock here from all over the world either to participate or just to observe.
Main Street in Sturgis is open only for bikers, everything is about to see and to be seen. Most people come for the latter.
Sturgis Rally was brought to life in 1938 by J.C. “Pappy” Hoel, a local bike shop owner as well as some of his friends. They organized the first race in Sturgis with 19 participants.

Sturgis Motorcycle Museum
There is a new museum in Sturgis: of course a motor cycle museum. The Jackpine Gypsies Motorcycle Club as well as others opened the new museum. It can be found directly on Main Street on the opposite site from Camel corner and adjacent to the Pyramid bar. Open daily.
