Weather

If you are travelling to New York City it doesn’t matter much since NYC is a year-round destination. However, winters can be snowy and chilly winds are present.

New York State is a ‘Mid Atlantic State’ but even if not part of the New England States it has beautiful Indian Summers in the upper state region. So, the season fall (autumn) might be considered to be the ideal season for leaf peepers.

Winter and snow can easily last to April / May in New York State and is a pretty grey time of year, literally. It is usually followed by a nice and warm spring season which is ideal for traveling through the state. So is summer but it can be humid and black flies and other bugs can be an annoyance.
