Reformation Day

Annual event on 31 October. Religious services, church music and readings are at the forefront of this event, while a vibrant medieval market.

Pottery market (Wittenberger Töpfermarkt)

Annually end of September. One of the largest and best pottery markets in Germany. Farmers' markets are also held in the Cranach courtyards and the castle courtyard.

Luther’s Wedding (Luther's Hochzeit)

This annual event in the town of Wittenberg close to Berlin is one of Germany’s most delightful festivals attracting 100,000 visitors and celebrates the marriage of Martin Luther to Katharina von Bora in 1525. The highlight of this three day event is a large parade through the streets of Wittenberg where around 1000 participants dress in historical costumes.
