Every year in early August, Nuremberg dedicates an entire weekend to its greatest son, the painter Albrecht Dürer (1471-1528).
The programme of events which does justice to this innovative and multi-talented artistic genius with tongue-in-cheek events as well as with serious lectures by internationally renowned Dürer experts, offers a lot of "eye-openers" to young and not so young Dürer fans. Life and work of the most famous German artist have plenty of material to offer for a new focus every year. Throughout the year, interested visitors may walk along the Dürer Path, guided by a mini computer, from Albrecht Dürer's House, the master's residence and workplace, to the Germanische Nationalmuseum where they can admire Dürer's works
